M.I.S.S. Vegas Review: Nooworks at Pool

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

San Francisco based Nooworks‘ Fall 08 Collection is called Romanced By Horror and is inspired by “70s horror films, camping trips gone bad, zombies, werewolves and motorcycles.” The line has grown to include cut & sew in addition to t-shirts and has some really cute plaid pieces in M.I.S.S. favorite colors purple and red. The line also includes amazing accessories including handbags (complete with zombie zipper pulls and lining!), enamel charm necklaces, and sunglasses. Our favorite accessory is one she produced in conjunction with the O.G. U.S.A. Pencil Box Company - you know the ones - we all kept our pencils in ‘em back in the grade school days! Check out the pics after the jump.

M.I.S.S. Vegas Review: Los Angeles TC at Pool Tradeshow

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

California-based Los Angeles TC has created a line of the most comfy cozy tees. The styles are really unique and come in super-long varieties (sleeve and bodice) and even reversible styles with different graphics on each side (see below). Many of the styles and graphics were inspired by vintage tees, for example, tees with “Baby 89″ printed on them. They also make these really cool bags out of vintage hunting jackets from the 1940’s. Check out the rest of the pictures after the jump.

M.I.S.S. Vegas Review: LeSportsac at Pool Tradeshows

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

One of the booths that we were most excited to stop and see was LeSportsac. We love LeSportsac and we were so excited to see what new goodies they have lined up for Spring/Summer 2009. LeSportsac was founded in 1974 and, since some time has passed, the brand is preparing itself for a new generation of loyal fans. They’re offering more prints, more silhouettes and more options in exclusivity and price-point. Some new silhouettes they’ve added is a yoga mat bag (my prayers answered!), laptop cases and covers, totes, belt bags and cosmetics bags. In addition to lots of new prints, LeSportsac is coming out with patents for those of us that like our bags shiny.

M.I.S.S. Vegas Review: Melissa Shoes at Project Tradeshow

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Back in February we gave you a first glimpse of the Melissa Shoes x Vivienne Westwood collection and this time around we have sneak peaks of their Spring 2009 collection. The Vivienne Westwood collaborative series has expanded to include more styles - my very favorite is the “Lady Dragon” an open-toe sling-back with detachable heart (pictured below). All of the styles come in a rainbow assortment of fruity colors to go with any ensemble. Another new style is the “Three Staps” a gladiator sandal with, you guessed it, 3 straps. They are also re-issuing the Mary Jane II and the Ultragirl II - we’ve already posted about those styles and you can view them here. I absolutely love the matte black Ultragirl II - so chic! There are also two amazing new styles done in collaboration with Alexandre Herchcovitch - check out all the pics after the jump!  The styles start shipping in December and will be available on RevolveClothing.com.

M.I.S.S. Vegas Review: CTRL at MAGIC/SLATE

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

We’ve been fans of CTRL for some time now so it was a pleasure to meet Freeman and Esa, the boys behind the brand, in person.  CTRL is based in Helsinki, Finland so the guys made a trek out to Vegas but it was really worth it.  First off, the collection was shown on wire hangers - which brought flashbacks of “Mommy Dearest” to mind.  When you see the same hangers on all the racks, it’s refreshing to see designers infuse their personality into the details.  On to the clothes . . . For Spring 2009, Freeman was inspired by international cities and their individuality.  Cities like Paris and Jakarta played a strong role as recent trips to those places were fresh in his mind.  The inspiration can be seen mainly in the graphics and patterned prints.  Some favorites included his double entendre Paris tee (Paris, France v. Paris, Texas) and stone washed fleece (so comfy!).  Check out more pictures from the Spring 2009 collection after the jump.

M.I.S.S. Vegas Review: Sir Hayes at L’Art Bizarre

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

sir hayes

Sir Hayes offers the cutest baby clothing for little knights in shining armor that I have ever seen. This is not your traditional baby blue onesies with boats on them. These are fly clothes for your lil’ man. Khalym, the designer of Sir Hayes, started out with printed tiny tees and has expanded the collection to include cut & sew for Spring 2009. The pieces are adorable!! From a windbreaker with lanyard details and hood that zips into the collar, to seersucker shorts, vests and gingham jumpsuits - it’s all too cute. The pieces take inspiration from big boy clothes and include menswear details. The clothes are made for lil’ men, from 18 months to 7 years old, but some of the pieces could definitely be unisex. Seeing these clothes makes me want to have a kid so I can dress them in Sir Hayes. Not a good reason to have a kid, but a testament to how cute these pieces are. Sir Hayes can be purchased on Digital Gravel. See more pictures after the jump.

*L’Art Bizarre was a gifting suite put together by Gravis, HVW8 and Bijules NYC

M.I.S.S. Vegas Review: She Bible at Project Tradeshow

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

The ladies of She-Bible are expanding their collection and we love it!  They do amazing things with fleece and baby french terry and they’ve applied their feminine designs to new fabrics including a new organic collection.  I especially love their polka-dot ruffle-y sundresses and their fringe tank - yes fringe!  Get to shaking!! See the rest of the pictures of selections from their Spring ‘09 collection after the jump.

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Ten Deep is keeping the ladies in mind for holiday and spring with women’s tees that feature their iconic brass knuckle “problem solvers” in many different variations.  I love their neon brass knuckle sign (pictured below).  Check out the tees after the jump.

M.I.S.S. Vegas Review: Rocksmith at SLATE/MAGIC

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Rock Smith is slowly adding women’s tees to their already stellar men’s street wear collection.  We especially liked the Warhol inspired Obama tee.  When we asked Erik, the designer, if he had trouble designing for women he had the best answer yet:  “No, I have 3 sisters.”  Haha.  Great answer!  Check out the rest of the pics after the jump.
