After a temporary hiatus from the scene, it seems as though once popular sneaker brand, British Knights, is seamlessly making its way back into fashion.
They currently have an online store where their storied sneakers can be purchased as well as t-shirts that bare the company’s logo.
In addition to the throwback merch, the site boasts a gallery full of vintage ads and ask readers to send in stories of their fondest memories associated with the shoe.
As if you could forget, the first M.I.S.S. downloadable calendar featured a lace pair of BK hi-tops. If only the new kicks, looked as cool. *sigh.
This fall, Reebok will be dropping a black and white based music themed set of the iconic Freestyle sneaker, inspired by the vibrant styles seen in the hip-hop and punk scenes. In case you’ve been living under rock, allow me to make one thing clear:We lurrrvvve sneakers here at M.I.S.S. Crew.
From metallic Nike hi-tops to vintage LA Gears, we’ve always had a weakness for finely crafted and well-designed kicks. And we know we’re not the only people with this problem.
So, we can understand why Vanessa Hudgens would be interested in crafting a song that pays homage to her favorite pair of sneakers. But - oh, my! - what was she thinking when she laid down her tragic vocals on her new single, Sneakernight.
Not only can she not sing (and that’s after all of the fancy production, yall), but the sneakers Vanessa and her video co-horts are wearing are pretty, uh, well, bad.
A while back we noticed that Santogold had some tracks featured in the Bud Light Lime campaign. As I was watching Top Chef re-runs tonight I had the pleasure of waking from my commercial break to the sounds of Santogold. Turns out her music is featured in a new Ford commercial. You can view the commercial here:
Also, out now is an exclusive track made for Converse by Santogold, Pharrell and Julian Casablancas as part of a campaign that Converse put together called, Three Artists, One Song. The track is called “My Drive Thru” and has a contagious guitar riff and features the falsetto Pharrell is famous for, N.E.R.D. beats and Santogold’s ability to make any song a dance anthem. It’s a good representation of each of the artists and it’s cool to see how 3 diverse artists can come together to make 1 track without sacrificing their individuality or sound. There’s supposed to be a video out soon and the track will be available for exclusive download on Converse.com beginning Tuesday, June 10th. If you want to hear it now check out Sterogum - they are streaming the song online. If you like this project, you’re in luck because there is more music to this centennial campaign. Up next? Tracks with Kid Sister, YACHT, Bradford Cox, members of Gallows, Fiery Furnaces, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, and Care Bears on Fire. For more info on the project check here.
