Olsen Twins Add Jewelry To Their Collection

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

olsen twins jewelry

The Olsen Aliens, I mean twins, have teamed up with Robert Lee Morris to launch a jewelry collection as part of their brand, Elizabeth and James.  The ladies decided on jewelry as their next target because of their love of baubles.

‘We both have a love for accessories and they’ve always been important to us from Day One,’ Mary-Kate said. ‘They can help make an outfit or make you feel different. Maybe a ring brings you good luck, or you got it as a present and it means so much to you. It’s a feeling that you get when you put on something that is special.’

Proenza Schouler - Shoe Sneak Peak!

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

proenza schouler shoe

Last week we told you that Proenza Schouler had announced that they would be releasing a footwear line.  We just got a sneak peak of one of the styles and I have to say that I think it represents the designers well and is true to their aesthetic.  I love the traingular heel and the contrast in materials and colors.  The shoe is very unique - definitely a statement piece - the kind of shoe you build outfits around.  The duo has also designed other styles including ballet slippers, loafers, lace-up sandals and heels and will be available in the upcoming resort season.  The shoes will range in price from $300 to $3,000 with an average cost of $685.   When asked the next logical question about when a bag range is coming out, Lazaro Hernandez stated:  “It’s because we didn’t have anything to say yet. The entire market is so dense with bags and everything else, that until we found something original and specific to say, we didn’t want to say anything. We don’t do anything unless we have something to say.”  All I know is that I can’t wait to see what they have to “say.”

Betsey Johnson: New Bags & Dresses

Friday, May 30th, 2008

betsey johnson

Betsey Johnson has updated her site with more cuteness. Her newest collection of bags explore the nautical theme - with stripes, anchors and studs galore and the old-school aviation theme (think vintage Pan Am bags) all with the pizzazz and glitz that make Betsey Johnson so unique. She’s also added more dresses to her collection. I always manage to find tons of dresses that I want to wear - whether for work, play or partying. BJ does a great job of making dresses that you can find for any occasion. Check for updated looks on her site.

Hoop Dreams

chanel hoops

When it comes to earrings, there’s no contest - I am a hoop girl. I saw these Chanel hoops a few months back when the new Chanel eyewear ads started rolling out. I don’t know about you, but the photo above is all about the earrings for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a glasses girl too (especially the Chanel kind) but the hoops take the cake on this one. They are so subtle, so classic, so hoopy, that I really need them in my life. I could see myself wearing them forever, and ever.

Chanel Cruise 2009 - Pics From Miami!

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

chanel cruise I couldn’t wait to see to see the pictures from the show in Miami and I have to say, it was definitely worth the wait. Karl Lagerfeld never disappoints and this season’s resort show looked amazing. The models “walked on water” with a custom catwalk built for the show. Though the show took place in Miami, the aesthetic of the show looked more 1970s inspired with smoking jackets, high waisted leggy pants, disco dresses, wide-brimmed hats, tie-dye shirts and bell-bottom jeans. It looked fabulous in the usual black and white color palette with the addition of pastels like pink, lilac and light blue. BUT my favorite thing by far was the accessories. Check out the chain link/leather giant heart loops with interlocking C’s in them (see photo below). Hello? I need them - like now!! The oversized chain link bracelets and head bands were amazing too. And last but not least, the heart shaped bag with interlocking C’s was also a really cute new twist on the iconic logo.

Mother’s Day Gift Guide: Small Accessories

mother's day gift guide
I love small accessories and can’t get enough of them. They’re the kind of thing that you use everyday and take for granted so it’s always nice when someone surprises with something you cute and useful. My picks for Mamas today are small accessories: Keychains, date books, wallets, business card holders, makeup bags and scarves. Many brands offer fun ways to update the mundane. Here are my favorites from Coach, Kate Spade and Louis Vuitton.

I Heart Helena de Natalio Leather Handbags

Friday, April 11th, 2008

helena de natalio
I went to Chillin’ last weekend, an event in San Francisco where local designers showcase their goods. I’m so glad I went because I discovered Helena de Natalio leather handbags. These bags were so beautifully constructed they grabbed my attention immediately. The leather is buttery soft, the designs feminine and practical and the production is socially responsible.
helena de natalio
Helen, the designer of the Helena de Natalio collection started her line after being inspired by her experiences in the Peace Corps. Her bags are made in Argentina where she chooses all the leathers and trims herself. She personally guarantees fair wages, a healthy work environment and benefits are provided to all involved in the production of her bags. Stylish and socially conscious! It doesn’t get better than that! Check here for a store near you or for online dealers.

I had the pleasure of meeting the ladies behind MADE Jewelry at the San Francisco State University PACE Fashion Show. Talk about WOW! Their pieces are all handmade to perfection, using materials like: silver, gold, natural stones, rare charms and other one-of-a-kind materials.

What makes MADE Jewelry unique?
