Last week I had the honor and pleasure of attending the Ladies Lotto meeting in NYC. I have enjoyed all the meeting I have attended on both coast’s. The attendees are always an amazing and talented group and the guest speakers always inspiring. I was especially excited for this meeting in particular as the guest speaker was Camella Elhke, the original founder and designer of 555 Soul (Triple 5 Soul). We gathered at I Heart and spent an evening with Camella as she talked with us about her beginnings in fashion (before there was the term “streetwear”). Know your roots. Be inspired ladies.

NYC boutique I Heart is showing “Moontunes” a collection of watercolors by Jess Rotter through March 4th. Rotter’s imagery is a really unique mix of art nouveau motifs with modern illustrations - just the sort of thing you would expect to see gracing the pages of Nylon Magazine. She pays homage to nostalgic greats like John Phillips and Linda Ronstadt. “Moontunes” is available for viewing exclusively at I Heart and the pieces are for sale. The ladies of of I Heart have done it again . . . they’ve managed to find 2 cute new lines with great pieces just in time for Spring. First up is Lover, out of Australia, that makes pieces that are rocker yet girly . . . think Pat Benatar. Their must have pieces for this season are the high-waisted shorts and the perfect summer frock. Second is Valentine, a line of dresses that are sweet, very mod and sure to pull an outfit together in seconds.
