Friday evening, I ventured out to the 55DSL on Manhattan’s Lafayette St. to attend and support my friend, jewelry designer Osamu Koyamu, of Complete Technique in his latest endeavor, a luxurious black rhodium and gold plated speaker pendant limited to 55 individually numbered pieces and available exclusively at the 55DSL New York flagship store.
Osa, a master metal smith has been making his intricately detailed music inspired jewelry for years under his brand Complete Technique, and has created custom pieces for brands and celebrities alike, such as Kid Robot, Staple Design, 3Sixteen, producer Hi-Tek, Mos Def, Biz Markie, and Nina Sky. Check out some product shots of this limited edition pendant, and pics from the event, after the jump.

A couple of months ago we were “introduced” to the work of Lorena Barrezueta. It was love at first site. Taking a material that one might associate with your grandmother’s candy dish or vase, porcelain, and bringing it to a modern and up-dated place, Battezueta, creates jewelry and tableware for the design savvy. Please believe this ain’t your Granny’s fruit bowl! All items are crafted by hand in her Brooklyn studio. Her jewelry collection, “Listen Lady“, features printed bangles and “Mannuel Communication,” all printed with 22K gold or platinum. I am so into the tromp l’oeil studded bracelets and the watch bangles, lovingly named “Cassie” and “Rollie” . . . I can finally get the 22K Rolex I’ve been wanting! And her “Gourmet Collection” of tablewear made from molds of disposable take-out containers, genius . . . um, I’m no where near getting married but at least I know what to register for my tableware!

See Rollie, Cassie and much more after the jump!

We have been long time lovers of 31 Corn Lane and it’s always fun to visit the ladies and see what’s new and exciting! Spring 09 is an offering of Little House on the Prairie inspired bags and jewelery. Ditsy floral prints paired with rugged raw denim and rope detail handles are reminiscent of Laura Ingalls Wilde. The fun twist to the collection is the “lil Hood on the Prairie” aspect with two finger rings and big old gold hoop earrings…loving it! See more of the Spring collection and Fall 08 after the jump! Han Cholo has some new pieces inspired by livin’ in East LA and I’ve dubbed the line “Han Chola” because I think it’s more fitting. From roses, tattos, nails did, laugh now/cry later, Han Cholo has all the Chola iconography to keep you hooked up. I’m especially loving this collection because my Mama Fall ‘08 collection has the same roots. I also am a Metallica fan so I love the play on the Metallica logo. And, there’s even some egyptomania in there for you with a falcon necklace. Take a look at more of my favorites after the jump. You can purchase online at 80s Purple.

And is the name of Geri Roucaute’s line of jewelry. I came across her designs at the Young Designers Market in NYC this past weekend. In 2005 ‘Poupette‘ has created. The name was taken from her childhood nickname given to her by her mother and includes designs inspired by her world travels and the creative environment she grew up in in the French Riveria. These are some of my favorite pieces!
Above pieces are from the “Jungle” series and are availalbe in silver or gold
Custom made silhouettes…

The Olsen Aliens, I mean twins, have teamed up with Robert Lee Morris to launch a jewelry collection as part of their brand, Elizabeth and James. The ladies decided on jewelry as their next target because of their love of baubles.
‘We both have a love for accessories and they’ve always been important to us from Day One,’ Mary-Kate said. ‘They can help make an outfit or make you feel different. Maybe a ring brings you good luck, or you got it as a present and it means so much to you. It’s a feeling that you get when you put on something that is special.’

If you’ve been paying attention to the trends, then you know that the “ethnic” look is very popular right now. Designers are inspired by many different cultures and putting things together to create new “style tribes.” Betsey Johnson’s newest collection reflects her inspiration taken from Native Americans - think dream catchers, turquoise stones, feathers, and references to nature and animals. The pieces are really cool - and really timeless - not just for the trendy girls out there. They would make lovely additions to any outfit this summer. I especially love the dream catcher earrings, eagle bracelet and multi-charm necklace. You can purchase all of the pieces online. Check out the rest of the collection after the jump.

We are huge fans of Office Tramp at M.I.S.S. Crew, and we’ve seen them grow over the past few years from one-of-a-kind pieces to full collections. Well, Office Tramp is not just for the Cool Kids anymore. We’re excited to let you know that you can find the pieces you’ve been coveting for sale online! From belts, necklaces and bracelets, don’t miss out on the new collection which features old-school rotary phone charms, glasses and “9 to 5″ clocks. I love their signature chunky chains and charms and their chain belts are very Chanel - sooo très chic! Happy Shopping!

P.S. Office Tramp now available on Karmaloop!
