Hanky Panky, the lingerie line famous for making “the most comfortable thong,” just launched a new website. It starts out in a very teasing way with an old-style “sexy lady” pen where a pin-up slowly undresses to reveal her hanky panky side. Once you enter the site, you feel like you’re in a woman’s room with the usual suspects - handgbag, newspaper, phone and of course, undies! The site is really fun to navigate and gives you an inside view to the Hanky Panky girl’s boudoir. Check it out for the lates on new products and lingerie up-keep tips. Just when you think that every possible celebrity spin-off clothing line has been established you hear about 13 more. Jessica Simpson is adding lingerie to her product offering, for Spring 2009, that currently consists of footwear, handbags, sunglasses, swimwear and outerwear. Her lingerie collection will include bras, undies, sleepwear, shapewear and daywear. In addition to lingerie she’s launching a fragrance in August and a belt collection in the fall. Busy lady!
Nicole Richie is also hopping on the celebrity-product-line-wagon with the launch of a new collection that she named after her daughter called House of Harlow. The line will include accessories and jewelry and then move on to children’s apparel. I actually like Nicole Richie’s style so I’m curious to see what she comes up with. Hopefully, it will be true to her own aesthetic. I also think it’s cool that she’s going to design children’s clothing - it’s an area that’s growing in popularity - shouldn’t kids have celebrity labels too?

For the launch of it’s new bridal range, White Wedding, Agent Provocateur chose SHOWstudio to develop and create the narrative advertising campaign. Based on a six-part script that AP founder Joe Corré wrote about “the demise of a bride’s ‘big day’ and . . . the unravelling of the religious organisation behind it”, SHOWstudio created photo stills and an experimental series of films “depicting Kate Moss running the gamut from demure virgin bride to dangerous, Lynchian siren.” Each day, one of the parts of the film series are publicized here. I’ve seen the first two and they are enchanting and haunting at the same time. Kate Moss looks beautiful as ever, though it is funny to see her as a bride. As a whole the I think the campaign is a huge success and I’ve always thought AP has done an excellent job of conveying the image and meaning behind their brand. The eagle-eyed among you will note that these are not the first AP films that Kate Moss has starred in: Back in 2006 we reported that Ms. Moss was featured in the Dreams of Miss X. I’ve seen a lot more “fashion/advertising” films lately and I think they are a great new way to give life to the clothing and the brand behind it. I’m excited to see more! The films release each day here from Friday 2nd–Wednesday 7th May 2008 at 18:00hrs UK time.
