Women Making History: Katie aka Queen Bee of Good Peoples

Friday, March 21st, 2008

Katie Longmyer is the Queen Bee; innovator of brand enhancement agency Good Peoples. Her affectionate nickname stems from her ability to connect people, DJs, brands, clubs and artists drawing upon her nationwide market and branding experience. Combined with her love for nightclubs and culture, this Queen Bee has elevated herself to become one of the industry’s sought after tastemakers and brand development experts.

Some of Good Peoples’ clients include: art culture magazine Beautiful/Decay, event photographer TONE, online video magazine The New Pop and countless DJs and musicians looking to develop their careers. Starting in Washington D.C., Katie steadily worked her way through the entertainment industry as a club promoter for legendary parties including Buzz (DC) and its sister party Fever (Baltimore). Upon relocating to New York City, Katie worked her way up the ranks at the #1 record label in the US, Warner Bros. Records, serving as Brand Partnerships Manager, a position uniquely crafted to utilize her vast array of talent and resources with national lifestyle and culture accounts.

Today, Katie curates a monthly artist series featuring up and coming photographers explicitly paired with live performances at her event home; the Warhol inspired, downtown VIP, 205 Club. She also continually works with numerous large-scale NYC clubs including Love, Rebel, and Studio B where she co-produces several events including the Baltimore Club/Hip-Hop inspired “Pussy Party” with acclaimed promoter Roxy Cottontail as well as electro themed monthly party “Korrupt” with MeanRed Productions.

More Katie and Good Peoples goodness after the jump!

After White Girl by Young Jeezy, which replaces the word “cocaine” with some of Hollywood’s most infamous white girls like Lindsay Lohan and Christina Aguilera, New York’s finest, Roxy Cottontail, has made a similar single. However, she uses Kate Moss as the substitute for the powdery substance. We love us some Miss Moss, but the tune is too damn catchy. Also, we think if Kate heard it, she would kind of like it too.Click here to listen to the accapella version of “Kate Moss” from Disque Primeur and Clark Magazine’s compilation Juice Volume 1.Source
